My first exposure to La Maison du Chocolat was when my mom sent me a box of their Fine Champagne Truffles for a chocolate and champagne theme party I was hosting. They arrived in a chocolate brown box wrapped in a signature La Maison bow, and the truffles inside were hidden behind a thin paper lining that neatly folds back and frames the chocolate for serving. Guests were forced to carefully choose their truffles, since the cocoa covered chocolates would leave trails of powder if great care was not taken. The extra time and effort was worth it, and ensured everyone savored the rich, smooth, perfectly flavored truffles as intended.
Open since 1977, La Maison du Chocolat has significant experience in the art of making and tasting chocolate. To share their knowledge, La Maison offers the “Parcours Initiatique,” where chocolate masters teach students about chocolate and pastries, and offer advice on how to distinguish the subtle nuances of different chocolate. Courses are held weekly at the Paris boutique, monthly at the London boutique and three times a year at the New York boutique. Chocolate lovers are guaranteed to leave the Parcours Initiatique well-versed, and perhaps well-covered, in some of the finest chocolate in the world.

My roommate gave me La Maison for my birthday a couple years back. Wow, those were the freshest chocolates I had ever tasted. And I only needed to eat one a day to get my chocolate fix!
OMG! NO POSTS FOR TODAY???? WHY WHY WHY? *sob*
When’s the next NY class? I’ll have to plan my next vacation in NY so I can attend. Although, I’d rather attend the Paris class!!
