I also love this truffe, its wonderful!

Another very good one is local in Munich / Germany, i fear: Its produced by Becks Cocoa here in Munich and i bought it in the cafe (www.cafecocoa.de). Ther german name is "Bruchschokolade". Its an unusual piece of chocolate: very dark, and very high chocolate percentage. But not the usual sweet-bitter taste, but more bitter, and excellent. Parts of cocoa beans add a feeling of crunchy, but very delicate. Its a very pure and excellent chocolate experience. If you really cant get it, maybe i can send you a small piece :) Cheers, Albrecht. (albrechtschnabel AT gmx.de)

BEST CHOCOLATE EVER! My wifes work had them for Christmas treats 5 or 6 years ago. They were in the gold bags with no writing on them, mixed in with other goodies. She brought a half emptied bag home for me, I am a certified chocoholic, and I freaked!
We started a manhunt type search for the origins of the "GOLD BAG TRUFFLES", and no one knew where they came from, brand, or anything. She scored another bag or two from the office basket, and they were treasured ever so sparingly...
Then the next Christmas while checking out at Costco, a friend was loading the check stand as I noticed a box of chocolate with surprising similarity to the beloved GOLD BAG VARIETY. I immediately opened the box, saw the GOLD BAG, and told the story, we all rejoiced, opened a bag and shared the wealth!
So I turned around with my cart and loaded it up with as much as I could afford, as Costco is famous for here today and gone tomorrow.
I have one unopened left box with a date of 2002 and am feeling the urgency of refilling my stash, so to the internet I go, as I have never seen it again in a retail store...
My search begins, and I will repost with the pertinant info if and when I am succesfull in my quest for the arguably best truffles ever!
To our chocolate health forever,

Hi Benson -- I'm hoping our SF and Asia readers can help you with this one, because I'm not sure where Cemoi is sold there. It is very difficult to find, even in New York. The website for Gold Star Chocolates, the importer of Cemoi, is "closed for nonpayment" and I wonder if they're in trouble. I recently scoured New York City for some and picked up the last box at Chef Central in Westchester. Good luck.
