Lobster is everywhere in Maine, even in the ice cream. Ben & Bill’s Chocolate Emporium in Bar Harbor, Maine created Lobster Ice Cream in the early 1990s to prove that their ice cream is homemade. With real chunks of frozen lobster mixed into buttery ice cream the creation tastes exactly like you would expect - disgusting. I had the opportunity to try this unusual ice cream last weekend in Maine, and I barely finished one bite (luckily they give free samples.) It’s chewy, fishy and you may have to stop yourself from screaming once you try it. So why try Lobster Ice Cream? To say you had it, of course. When in Maine…

Well I was in Maine and I knew to stay away! You are more adventurous than me!
Um, no, I don’t think so!
EVERYONE has been to Maine lately but me! I’m so homesick. =( I grew up an hour away from MDI, so I’ve been to B & B’s many a time. Being a vegetarian, however, I’ve never tried the lobster ice cream. But really… how can it be that bad?
Doh! Hit “enter” before I meant to. =) I was kidding about the ice cream. It’s always amazed me that enough people buy it to keep it in production from year to year!
Maine Rocks.
I don’t know, that sounds pretty good…
You folks are wacked - Lobster Ice Cream is the bomb - best flavor I’ve ever had.
