[...] I never have milk chocolate stocked in my pantry. It’s always dark chocolate. I keep some white chocolate (it’s not chocolate!) mostly for garnish. So, one day, when I was craving reaaaally bad for something chocolatey, I turned left-over cakes into balls and balls of dark chocolate. All placed in black paper cups. Dark mood, sweet teeth. Just in time for Sugar High Friday #13; happy 1st anniversary! This time, Kelli of Lovescool is hosting the event (read her lovely roundup here). I hope i won’t be disqualified because I use a little bit of white chocolate, only for decorating purpose. Trust me. [...]

[...] This is my very first Sugar High Friday entry… I make lots of things with chocolate, but I’ve never made one of those lovely, dense flourless (or flourlow) cake, so I decided that would be an appropriate challenge. I was all ready to try out this recipe when I realized I only had four and a half ounces of chocolate left from the birthday pie. After a quick cruise through the rest of the Williams-Sonoma recipes, I found a cake that required just five ounces of chocolate. Perfect. I made up the last 1/2 ounce of chocolate with some Chipits I found at the back of the cupboard. [...]

[...] 75 dessert lovers from over 15 different countries journeyed to the dark side for the Sugar High Friday anniversary event this past Friday. Participants were challenged to use dark chocolate in a new or interesting dessert, and I am pleased to say that the entries surpassed all expectations. I am truly inspired by creations like the Chocolate Almond and Date Filo Coil by Celia at English Patis (wow!) and Chocolate Covered Sweet Sesame Spheres by Indira at Mahanandi. I was also happy to find new takes on classics like Chocolate Pear Clafoutis by Julie at A Finger in Every Pie and Fiery, Dark, Dangerous Chocolate Soufflé by Stephen at Stephen Cooks. The wrap-up for this event leaves us all with an excellent list of dark chocolate recipes. Thanks to the creativity and dedication of all involved, I’m sure this dark edition will go down as a bright spot in Sugar High Friday’s history. [...]
