75 dessert lovers from over 15 different countries journeyed to the dark side for the Sugar High Friday anniversary event this past Friday. Participants were challenged to use dark chocolate in a new or interesting dessert, and I am pleased to say that the entries surpassed all expectations. I am truly inspired by creations like the Chocolate Almond and Date Filo Coil by Celia at English Patis (wow!) and Chocolate Covered Sweet Sesame Spheres by Indira at Mahanandi. I was also happy to find new takes on classics like Chocolate Pear Clafoutis by Julie at A Finger in Every Pie and Fiery, Dark, Dangerous Chocolate Soufflé by Stephen at Stephen Cooks. The wrap-up for this event leaves us all with an excellent list of dark chocolate recipes. Thanks to the creativity and dedication of all involved, I’m sure this dark edition will go down as a bright spot in Sugar High Friday’s history.

Wow! I am so impressed with ALL of the entries. Truly inspirational. I am happy to have been a part of it. I hope SHF keeps growing and growing.
There are so many delicious sounding desserts, my sweet tooth doesn’t know where to begin.
OH MY GOD, KELLI! You’ve outdone yourself, and anyone who hosts a blog competition. I can’t believe you did this so fast, and so well. I’m salivating here. I want to try every one of them.
Thank you, thank you.
Oh wow Kelli! You have outdone yourself! What a great round-up! Pics all look great! Thank you again for hosting this very bittersweet event!
Thanks for hosting this event and for the great wrap-up, Kelli. All of the recipes and photos look great!
Tons of work for you, and oh so much fun for all of us to see visually. Thanks so much!
Thanks everyone. The entries were so great I had to get links up asap. If I missed anything or you want me to add your location (I couldn’t find many of them) just let me know.
Total chocolate overload just looking at those pictures… I’ll be trying out some of the cakes for sure.

Great round-up Kelli. Well done!
And with all these wonderful choc recipes I don’t know where to begin!!
I’ve died and gone to dark chocolate heaven. I am overwhlemed. Too many recipes to try. Thank you Kelli for a wonderful theme.
Kelli you have done a fantastic job with the round-up…Thank you so much for choosing the perfect theme for SHF’s first anniversary! Now, to try out all these amazing dark chocolate recipes - they all look so good!
Thank you for accepting my entry, Kelli. I love your pictorial roundup! You’ve given so much love into your task as a host. Lovely!
I can’t wait to give some of these a shot! Fantastic summary! I completely messed up the dates though…oh well.
Thank you, Kelli…the round-up looks incredible! What an array of delightful desserts
Wow, what a fabulous roundup. This is the first SHF I’ve missed since I discovered them. And dark chocolate is my alltime favorite dessert. I was going to make a dark chocolate orange tart but was feeling too sickly. It’s amazing that a cold could keep a person from focusing on food as much as I usually do.
You can be sure I’ll bookmark this page and try them all out soon.
Hi Kelli!
Thanks for accepting my entry at such short notice, and for the beautiful roundup.
Wow Kelli - Well done. Great round up.And some great recipes to try. Thanks for all your hard work.
So when are we going to take a week off of work and try all of these things? They all look very yummy!
kelli, beautiful roundup! i WISH there was a cookbook with all these entries — our very own Death by Dark Chocolate tome…. now i can’t decide which one i should try first. thanks so much for hosting!
That is what I call a Sugar High! I wish we could sample them all! I am for sure going to try most of these recipes. Now if only there were enough time! A great roundup, thank you for all the hard work that must have taken.
This is enough to make Everyone go over to the “Dark Side!” WOW, very impressive…I gained 10 lbs. just looking at all these beautiful desserts!
sorry i’m late!
