Robots & Donuts

I consider myself a donut-eating machine, so when I learned about a new art show featuring the secret lives of robots and donuts, I felt a connection. “Forbidden Adventures” by Eric Joyner is a collection of robot pictures, many of which include giant crullers, twists and classic glazed and sprinkled round donuts. My favorite picture [...]

Menu for Hope

Menu for Hope is the brilliant charity program organized by food blogger Chez Pim, meant to bring food lovers together in support of a worthy cause. Last year it raised over $17,000 for UNICEF; this year, the money raised will support the United Nations World Food Programme. Pim explains this year’s selection best on the [...]

Champagne Brownies - Holiday ‘06

We had fun designing the new holiday packaging for Amai’s famous Champagne Brownies. Andrew was inspired by old school Champagne bottle labels, and created a black label version for our new “Little Lady” (4-Champagne Brownies) and “Grand Dame” (8-Champagne Brownie) gift boxes. Shop Amai Online

After launching the new Amai website last week, the first question everyone asked was, “Where’s the shopping cart?” Even though Andrew and I have been in the web design world for many years, neither of us have had to deal with building our own e-commerce tool. It’s a suprisingly difficult task. Free shopping carts are [...]

I loved my brief stint as a member of the press. Although I was just an editorial assistant, I was treated like royalty. Free food, free books and access to great events. I even got to fly to Switzerland, business class, to tour a chocolate factory. While my experience may have been unusual (I hear [...]
